Simply focusing on patient satisfaction or education without fully engaging patients in the decision-making processes can lead to a false sense of quality care and less desirable outcomes. A fully engaged patient is one who understands their medical condition, participates in critical decision making, becomes a co-designer of their treatment plan, and adheres to that plan to the best of their ability. A true partnership is one based on mutual trust and integrity. With a better understanding of patient insights and needs, creating a plan of action for improved patient engagement will result in enhanced quality measures and favorable healthcare outcomes. By making continuous improvements to patient engagement programs, both providers and patients will achieve optimal results along the continuum of care.
Develop patient partnership plans.
Develop pivotal patient insights and engagement solutions to address unmet concerns, needs, and expectations. By using a patients’ capacity to improve care delivery and product design, every patient will have an investment in their well-being.
